What it does
Most writing plans say write every day and stop there. That fails because the finish line is vague and the daily size is a guess. A person plans for a good day, hits a bad one, and quits. This skill does the sums first. It turns the length of your piece into a daily word count, then checks that count against the minutes you really have. It works out the finish date and compares it with a season of about three months, because a first draft that drags on much longer tends to go stale. Then it sets the routine: one room, one door, one start time, a rule for when to stop, a smaller count for bad days, and who sees nothing until the draft is done. You get a table for the first two weeks.
You give it
- The length of the piece, in words or pages
- Which days you can write and how many minutes each day
- Your start date
- Your room, and what interrupts you (optional)
- Your idea from the what-if situation finder (optional)
- A buyer brief (optional)
You get
- A daily word count with the sum that shows it
- A finish date, checked against about three months
- A closed-door routine: room, start time, stop rule, secrecy rule
- A bad-day floor and a table for the first two weeks
Use it when
- You say you will write a book and have no plan beyond hoping.
- You wrote for a week and then missed three days and gave up.
- You want to know if a draft by summer is realistic.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Say how long the piece will be, the days you can write and how many minutes you have on a normal day.
- If you only know pages, say so. It will convert them and mark the guess.
- Check the daily count against your worst weekday. If you could not hit it then, lower it.
- Print the table and put it where you write.
