What it does
Most requests open with the point you disagree on. The other person says no early, and a spoken no is hard to take back because they feel they must stay consistent. Everything after that is uphill. This skill builds a short ladder of questions instead. It starts from a point you both hold, such as a shared goal, a standard or a fact they have already stated. Each question is small and has an honest yes, and each follows from the one before. The last rung is your request or the obvious next step. It also tests that every question is fair, so the ladder never tricks the person. If they say no, you step back one rung and ask what they see.
You give it
- Your request in one line
- A plan from "Buy-in conversation planner", or your own notes on what they want
- Their likely doubts (optional)
- Objection map (optional)
You get
- A ladder of four to seven questions in order, each with the yes it expects
- The shared point it starts from, and why it is safe
- A move for each no, and a stopping line
- A fairness check on every rung
Use it when
- You are about to ask for a change and expect an early no.
- You are in a sales or support talk where the other person starts from a flat refusal.
- You want to lead a meeting to a decision without making a speech.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste your request and the plan or notes.
- Read the questions aloud. Change any that sound like a trap.
- Take the ladder to the talk, and leave it on the page if you can ask the questions in your own words.
- After the talk, note which rung got a no.
