What it does
Most websites and pitches spend their first lines on the business. The visitor wants to know three things quickly: what do you do for me, what will I have to do, and what happens if I don't. If they cannot tell in a few seconds, they leave. This skill puts the customer in the lead. It names the one thing they want and their problem on three levels: the practical issue, how it feels, and why it should not be this way. It casts you as the guide with one proof, gives a plan of three or four steps, and writes a direct call to action and a lighter one. It states what is at stake once, then compresses the message into one line a stranger could repeat.
