What it does
A pitch that opens with the product asks a stranger to do the work of finding out why it matters. They rarely do. Many people decide in the first line whether they feel the same way you do, and the product only counts after that. This skill writes your usual pitch first, so you can see the gap. Then it looks for the belief behind the work, in your facts, and rejects anything that is really about money. It lists what you do that proves the belief, picks the people who already share it, and rewrites from belief to method to product. Features that would scare a doubtful reader are recast around what that person values. It adds one true story if you have it, then compares both versions.
You give it
- Your product, service or cause, in a few lines
- Who you want to reach
- Your brand file (optional)
- A buyer or audience profile (optional)
- A true story that shows the belief (optional)
- Brand brain (optional)
You get
- Your usual pitch as a baseline
- The belief, how you live it and who it is for
- A short message that goes belief, how, then what
- Which version to use, and which features were recast
Use it when
- Your about page or pitch lists what you do and people still ask "so why you?".
- You are starting a cause, club or business and need a first message that people want to repeat.
- You have good facts but your intro opens with the product and loses people in the first line.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Say what you make or do and why you started, in three or four lines.
- Say who you most want to reach, and what they care about.
- Paste any true story, such as a customer who said something that stuck.
- Read both versions aloud to someone, then ask them to say back what you believe.
