What it does
A tracking plan for your product that you can trust: a short list of events, clear naming rules, funnels, retention groups and one main metric to watch. It builds from the bottom up, because bad events give bad funnels. Events are named object then action in past tense, like checkout_completed. States such as active status become properties, not events. It aims for 30 to 50 events, and warns when you go over 100. It also covers how to tie anonymous visits to a signed-in user, how to version your schema, and how to pick a North Star metric. The result is a spec your developers can build from.
