What it does
A no that is vague or hidden behind policy makes people feel brushed off. A no that is harsh makes them feel small. In both cases they leave without a path forward and trust drops. This skill starts from how you would want to be treated in their place. It restates their request so they know you understood it, lists the reasons that are really true, and says no in one plain sentence. It then offers another route to the goal behind the request. It checks that the no is fair to the company and to everyone else who might ask, and that you are not using "policy" to avoid saying why.
