What it does
Many scenes read like a plot summary. Things happen in a tidy chain, and the reader never feels what it is like to be there. This is a problem for fiction, but also for a customer story, a case study or a brand film, where the point is to let someone feel a life. This skill picks one ordinary errand and writes it from inside the character's head. It lists what they notice, trivial and sharp, in the order it arrives. A memory comes in and leaves without being explained. A clock or chime marks time so the reader feels the minutes pass. It cuts any plot link that only exists to look like a novel, and checks that the small errand opens up a whole life.
You give it
- A character, with age, work and one thing that is on their mind
- One small errand or task on one day
- Your brand file (optional), if the scene is for a brand
- Brand brain (optional)
You get
- A scene told from inside the character's head
- Time markers placed through it
- A short note on what was cut and why
Use it when
- Your scene is accurate but flat, and you want the reader inside the character.
- You are writing a customer story or portrait and want to show a day, not list events.
- You have a lot of plot and want one quiet scene that makes a character real.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Describe your character and the errand in two or three sentences. Keep the errand small.
- Say one thing the character is quietly worried about or remembering (optional).
- Read the scene aloud. Mark any line that sounds like the writer talking, not the character.
- Ask for a second version with a different time marker, such as a bell instead of a clock.
