What it does
Stock is paid for months before it sells. A store can show a profit every month and still run out of cash the week a big order is due. That is why many stores that sell well still fail: they cannot pay for the next batch. This skill lays out your orders against the supplier's lead time and how long each batch must last. For each order it shows the cash due and the date. It then rolls cash forward month by month, using net income, less stock bought, plus the cost of the stock you sold. The lowest point is the raise you need. It then reruns the plan with sales 30 and 50 percent short and shows what you would tell suppliers. It compares supplier terms, a credit line, order financing and revenue-share financing as repayments. It does not recommend a lender.
You give it
- Your monthly order forecast in units
- Supplier lead time in months, and how many months each order must cover
- Unit cost, starting stock and starting cash
- Monthly profit before stock purchases, and supplier terms (deposit, balance, days)
- Any credit line or retailer purchase orders (optional)
- Your results (optional)
You get
- A month-by-month stock table with order dates and sizes
- A cash table with the lowest point, the raise needed and the month
- Out-of-stock days under different supplier terms, and what cash caps your growth at
- A downside case and a cost comparison of the funding options
Use it when
- You are about to place a large or growing stock order and want to know if you can pay for it.
- Sales are growing and you keep running out of stock because cash is tight.
- You are choosing between supplier terms, a credit line or other funding for stock.

- Take the terms to ask for to the Supplier payment terms planner, and slow stock to the SKU ad money planner.
