What it does
Most marketing plans fail because they have ten goals, a long list of things to try and no way to tell which one worked. People stay busy and learn little. This skill pins your plan to one goal with a number and a date. It works backwards to how many sales or sign-ups you need, then scores each tactic from 1 to 5 for impact and for ease. It picks the top few, gives each a time limit, and sets a split of about 80% of effort on what already works and 20% on tests. It adds a daily and weekly review, and a rule for stopping what fails. It also checks that people want what you sell before you spend on marketing.
You give it
- The result you want, even if rough, and by when
- Your price, profit per sale and any current sales or sign-up numbers
- Tactics you could try, as a list
- Any proof that people want what you sell (optional)
You get
- One goal written with a number and a date
- The sales or sign-ups needed to reach it
- A sheet of tactics each scored for impact and ease
- A test calendar with stop dates and a review rhythm
Use it when
- You have many marketing ideas and no clear order.
- You are about to spend on ads or content without a target.
- You want a plan you can review in ten minutes each week.

- Read the score sheet and change any score you disagree with, then ask it to redo the top picks.
- Put the calendar in your diary and run the weekly review.
