What it does
Polished work can still feel empty. The writing is smooth, the design is sharp, and nobody feels anything. The usual causes are copied looks, a pile of accurate detail, a shock added for effect, or a puzzle that is interesting but carries no feeling. The maker also may not have felt it at all and is working to a deadline. This skill names the one feeling the piece should pass on, then tests it. It asks if the maker lived the feeling, checks each of four fakes with a quote from the piece, and rates three conditions: individual, clear and sincere. It marks where the feeling is lost and suggests the plainest way to say it.
You give it
- The story, ad, talk or design brief to check
- The feeling you meant to pass on, if you know it (optional)
- Who it is for (optional)
- What the maker lived through that led to it (optional)
- A buyer brief (optional)
You get
- The feeling named in one word
- A score out of 100 with its working
- Each of four fakes marked yes or no, with a quote
- Where the feeling is lost, and a simpler rewrite of one passage
Use it when
- A piece is well made but leaves people cold, and you cannot say why.
- You are about to publish a founder story, brand film or speech and want to know if it rings true.
- A design brief has lots of effects and no clear feeling.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste the piece. Say the feeling you meant, if you can.
- Tell it, in a line or two, what the maker actually went through. It judges sincerity first.
- Read each flagged quote aloud and decide if you agree.
- Rewrite the flagged passages in the plainest way, using its suggestion as a model.
- Run it again and check the score rose.
