What it does
A PageSpeed report mixes two kinds of numbers. One is real shoppers on Chrome over the last 28 days. The other is a single simulated phone. Owners often chase the lab score, which swings from run to run, while the number Google judges your store on sits a few lines above it. This skill splits the report in two. It judges pass or fail on the real-user numbers and uses the lab part to find the cause: the slow image, the shifting bar, the blocking script. It checks the three page types Shopify uses for its own speed score, says when a page has too little traffic to have its own data, and tells you when to look again so you don't judge a fix too early.
You give it
- PageSpeed Insights results for your homepage, one collection page and one product page (mobile first; paste the text or attach screenshots)
- Every product and collection template you use, if you have more than one
- Past test scores or notes (optional)
- Your question (optional)
You get
- A real-user (field) against lab verdict for each page and metric
- A field score out of 100, with the sum shown
- The element that causes the slow load and the page shift on each page
- Your first three fixes, what to retest and when
Use it when
- Your store feels slow, or your mobile score is under 50.
- Google Search Console or Shopify flags Core Web Vitals on your store.
- You changed a theme or an app and want to know if it helped.
