What it does
When something does not work, people tend to try two or three things, give up and decide it can't be done. Real progress often takes dozens of cheap trials, each written down, so that every failure removes one option and the list of what is left gets shorter. This skill starts by checking that someone will pay for the result and that it is worth getting. It lists every material, method or option you could try, builds the roughest version fast, and plans many trials in turn. It sets up a log with date, time, what was tried and the sketch or numbers seen. Each failure states what it ruled out. If you use a tool to measure, it is checked on a known case first.
You give it
- The result you want to get working, and who would pay for it
- What you have tried so far (optional)
- Numbers or results from earlier trials (optional)
- A buyer brief (optional)
- Your results (optional)
You get
- A check that the result is worth getting
- A list of every option to try, and the roughest first version
- A trial log with a row for each trial
- A "what it ruled out" line for each failed trial, and what else the whole system needs
Use it when
- Something you built doesn't work and you aren't sure what to try next.
- You've tried a few fixes, they failed, and you want to know if it's worth carrying on.
- You want a record of what you tried so nobody repeats it.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Describe the result you want and who would pay for it.
- List what you have already tried, even failures.
- Run the trials in the order it gives and fill in the log as you go.
- Bring the log back to see what is ruled out and what is left.
