What it does
A clear call on whether to pick, keep or drop a vendor, with the real cost, the risks and the points to raise in negotiation. You can show it to the person who signs the deal. The skill works from the proposal, contract terms or performance data you give it. It builds a total cost of ownership: licence fees, setup, training, support and the cost of leaving. It reviews risks such as the vendor's financial health, security, reliance on one supplier, lock-in and recovery plans. For two or more vendors, it builds a side-by-side table of price, features, integrations, security, support and terms. The report opens with a two or three sentence recommendation.
You give it
- The vendor name or proposal
- Whether this is new, renewal or comparison
- Pricing, contract terms or performance data
- What matters most to you (optional)
You get
- A short recommendation
- A cost breakdown for year one and three years
- A risk review
- Negotiation points
Use it when
- Two vendors sent proposals and you must pick one.
- A contract renews in 60 days and you want to know if it is still worth it.
- Finance asks for the full cost, not only the licence price.
- You want a list of things to push back on before you sign.
