What it does

Most leaders ask "Any feedback for me?" and hear "No, it's all good." Then they give their own feedback before they have earned the right to, and it comes out too soft or too harsh. Neither way helps the person. This workflow starts with you. It writes a question that needs a specific answer, plans a pause of about six seconds after you ask, and prepares how you will respond to what you hear. Then it plans the conversation where you give feedback. The order comes from Kim Scott's article on how to ask for feedback and get Radical Candor. Her method is to ask first, listen, and reward what you hear before you give any of your own.

Steps

  1. Feedback request script writer: Say who you manage and what you want to learn. Get your go-to question and how to handle silence.
  2. Feedback conversation planner: Describe the person and the problem. Get the conversation: what to praise, what to say and how to say it.

How to use it

  1. Download the handoff pack. It's a zip with HANDOFF.md and every skill file this workflow uses.
  2. Give the folder to Claude (in Claude Code, or as files in a Claude Project) and say "Follow HANDOFF.md".
  3. Say who you manage, what you want to learn and who you need to give feedback to. It works step by step and saves each result.
  4. Ask your question at the end of a regular one-to-one and count to six in silence. Then have the planned conversation.
