What it does

An email backlog is not a time problem. It is a decisions problem: every message needs a call on whether it matters, who it is from and what to say, and making four hundred calls in a row is what nobody can face. So the pile grows and the important email is in there somewhere. This workflow makes the calls once, then applies them. It interviews you about your email: who your senders are, what you always say yes or no to, how you sound, what goes to someone else. It saves that as a guide. Then it goes through the backlog with the guide and drafts a reply, a forward or a one-line decision for every email. Each draft is checked for mistakes: a wrong name, a promise you did not make, a tone that is off. You send in batches.

Use it when

Steps

  1. Inbox rules interviewer: Answer questions about your email. Get a saved guide to your senders, reply voice and rules for triage.
  2. Email backlog clearer: Point it at your inbox. Get what needs you, drafted replies in your voice, and deadlines pulled from long threads.
  3. Email mistake fixer: Paste an email. Get small errors fixed in your own voice, and tracking bits removed from links if you ask.

How to use it

  1. Download the handoff pack. It's a zip with HANDOFF.md and every skill file this workflow uses.
  2. Give the folder to Claude (in Claude Code, or as files in a Claude Project) and say "Follow HANDOFF.md".
  3. Answer its questions about how you handle email. It saves the guide.
  4. Paste the backlog. It drafts a reply or a decision for each email and checks them.
  5. Send the drafts you approve, in batches. Keep the guide for next time.
