AI Blocks › Understand your customers

Sell to the buyers your rivals ignore

Give it your product and rivals. Get a buyer group they ignore, their own words and ad angles to test.

Find a buyer group rivals miss and brief ads is a free AI workflow for the job "Understand your customers". It guides your AI through several skills in order, passing each step's output to the next.

What it does

When your product looks like everyone else's, you end up fighting for the same obvious buyer with the same promises. Ads blur together and you can only compete on price. The way out is often not a new claim but a new buyer: a group the leaders ignore, who still have the problem. The steps find that group. First it maps who your rivals sell to, finds three or four groups nobody serves from review stories, and checks how big each is. You pick one. Then you spend an hour in the forums and review threads where that group talks, and save the posts. It mines them for their words, writes a half-page brief, and turns the brief into ad angles. It will not stretch a claim to fit a group, so a product that cannot truly help them is ruled out.

Steps

  1. New buyer profile finder: Give it a crowded product. Get rivals' buyers, three or four unserved groups and a ranked pick.
  2. Buyer research from forums: Share your product and buyer group. Get a forum research plan, quote file and customer profile.
  3. Buyer brief writer: Paste your offer and some reviews. Get a half-page buyer brief and the one force your copy must move.
  4. Ad angle planner: Name your ad's buyer. Get a short brief on how it opens, argues and asks.

How to use it

  1. Download the handoff pack. It's a zip with HANDOFF.md and every skill file this workflow uses.
  2. Give the folder to Claude (in Claude Code, or as files in a Claude Project) and say "Follow HANDOFF.md".
  3. Paste ad notes, review stories and forum threads when it asks. It uses only what you paste, and says where each claim comes from.
  4. When it pauses, spend an hour in the forums and review threads where the chosen group talks, and save the posts. Leave out usernames and links.
  5. Check the group is one your product can truly help before you write ads.
