What it does
A factory listing is a sales page. Anyone can claim to make your product, hold the right certificates and have capacity to spare. Founders in the sources lost money by trusting a contract manufacturer before vetting it, or by depending on one plant until a bigger customer bought its capacity. This skill treats every listing claim as something to check. It tells you how to build a shortlist of factories, what to ask on a video call, and which documents to request. It scores each factory on four things: how fast and clearly they answer, how much similar work they have done, whether their documents check out, and how complete their quote is. A second pass maps your suppliers and the share of volume each carries, so you know where one failure would stop sales.
You give it
- Your tech pack or product spec
- The factories you found, with links, their answers and any certificates
- Your target order size and budget
- Your products by supplier and each supplier's share of volume (optional)
- Contract terms, such as price, capacity and payment terms (optional)
- Brand brain (optional)
- Spreadsheet (optional)
You get
- A shortlist of factories to contact and the message to send
- Video-call questions and a red-flag list
- A score out of 100 for each factory, and how it was worked out
- A dependency map with a risk rating, a backup supplier plan and terms to ask for
Use it when
- You need a first factory for a new product and have a list of listings to sort.
- Your current factory is slow, raises prices, or you rely on it for most of your volume.
- You are signing a supply deal and want terms that protect you.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste your spec and the list of factories with everything they have said so far. Say your order size and budget.
- Send the outreach message, hold the video calls, and paste the answers back.
- Read the scores and red flags. Ask finalists for samples, and score those with the sample approval gatekeeper.
- If one supplier carries most of your volume, run the dependency check and start on the backup plan.
