What it does
Many store features are there because a theme offers them, not because shoppers use them. A slider with five slides, a quick view button on every product, a video that starts by itself, a popup that opens at once, fade-ins on every section. Each one adds code and files that load before the page is useful. This skill looks at your pages and goes through those features one by one. It uses your click or heatmap data, if you have it, to decide which features earn their weight, and suggests a lighter replacement for each that does not: a single strong hero, a thumbnail video that loads on tap, a popup that waits. It also gives advice on your theme, with care: it won't tell you to move a working store to a new theme only for speed.
You give it
- The addresses of your homepage, a collection page and a product page
- Your theme name and settings, and the popup and video apps you use
- Heatmap or click data (optional, but it decides most verdicts)
- Your results (optional)
You get
- A list of heavy features with what each costs, and keep, change or remove
- A replacement for each (static hero, lite video embed, thumbnail)
- Theme advice
- A score out of 100 for how light your pages are, now and after the changes, with the sum shown
Use it when
- Your homepage has a slider, an autoplay video or many animations.
- Collection pages feel slow with 20 or more products.
- You're picking or changing a theme.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Give the addresses of your homepage, one collection and one product page, and attach screenshots.
- List your theme and every popup, video and effect app you know about.
- Add click or heatmap data if you have it, such as whether anyone uses quick view.
- Make one change at a time on a duplicate theme and run PageSpeed three times after each.
