What it does
Ads have to sell, and selling pushes you toward discounts and urgency. If every ad drifts that way, the brand slowly looks like a bargain shop. A marketing vector is one direction that stays the same in every ad: the world it shows, who the buyer is and the tone. Around it you set a spectrum of what is allowed, so your testers have room to try things without breaking the brand. This skill writes the vector first. Then it builds a grid of concept types and formats against three columns: on-brand, stretch and off-limits. It sets a rule for when a sale is allowed. It gives creators a one-page brief. Each quarter it tells you how to review results, in a set order, to see which ads carry the story and which only win on a deep discount. It fits stores that sell on identity at a price above…
You give it
- Your brand file or a short description of the brand and who it is for
- Current ad angles and offers, including any discount ads
- Price point and average order value
- Hook rate, hold rate and click-through rate per ad (optional)
- ROAS, purchases, repeat purchase or cohort figures, and the share of ads that use discounts (optional)
- Brand brain (optional)
- Your results (optional)
You get
- A one-paragraph marketing vector
- A grid of ad concepts and formats sorted into on-brand, stretch and off-limits, with a reason for each
- Rules for when a discount or sale is allowed and how to word it
- A one-page brief for creators and editors, and a quarterly review order
Use it when
- You sell on identity and your ads are drifting toward heavy discounts.
- You are briefing creators or editors and need a short guide on what is in and out.
- You review ad results each quarter and want to tell story-led ads from ones that only win on a discount.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste your brand file or a short description of the brand. If you have no brand file, run the Store promise writer first.
- List your current ad angles, offers and discounts, and your price and average order value.
- Hand the one-page brief to your creators. Add ad results each quarter and ask for the review.
- Move an angle between columns only when the review backs it.
