What it does
Some decisions have a right answer you can calculate, such as how much stock to hold. Others cannot be calculated because the effect shows up over years, or you have no history to measure. Teams often pretend the second kind is the first, or let the loudest voice settle the first kind. This skill tests three things: do you have history on the main inputs, will the effect show within a quarter, and would everyone accept one best answer from a model. If all three are yes, it builds the model. If any is no, it asks you to write the judgment, shows the short-term math that argues against it and names what the math cannot see. It adds a date and a signal to check the judgment later.
You give it
- The decision and the options
- The numbers and history you have, with the period they cover
- The outcome you care about and over what time (optional)
- Your question (optional)
You get
- The decision sorted as math or judgment, with the three-test result
- For a math call: the model set-up and the input that would flip the answer
- For a judgment call: a written judgment, the math against it and what the math cannot see
- A review date and a signal
Use it when
- A team argues about a choice and nobody agrees on what would settle it.
- The numbers say one thing and your instinct says another, for example on price.
- You are about to build a model for a decision that no model can settle.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Describe the decision, the options and the numbers you have.
- Say how far ahead the outcome matters.
- Read the three-test result. If you disagree, say which test and why.
- Follow the next step. Put the review date in your calendar.
