What it does
Most bad decisions are not stupid. Several small pressures lean the same way at once: you were given something, you already said yes in public, everyone else is buying, and you hate to lose what you have. Any one is easy to resist. Together they can push judgment off course. This skill writes the sound reasons for the decision first. It then checks the situation for five pressures: reward, a favour owed, being consistent with what you said before, what others are doing, and fear of loss. It counts how many point the same way, names the strongest, and suggests a pause or a step away. It also asks whether you have real practice and fast feedback in this kind of call, and whether your confidence rests on a record or on a neat story.
You give it
- The decision, and the date you must make it
- Your reasons for it, in your words
- Who is involved, what they gain and what you have already said or paid (optional)
You get
- Your rational case, written before the pressure check
- The pressures present, each tied to a fact in your situation
- A flag when three or more stack, with a cooling-off step
- A calmer version of the choice, and a rating of how much to trust your gut
Use it when
- You are about to sign, buy, hire or commit, and the room is pushing you.
- You feel certain and cannot say exactly why.
- A deadline, a discount or a pitch is rushing a big choice.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Describe the decision and give your honest reasons. Say who else benefits from a yes.
- Read the rational case first. Fix anything it got wrong.
- Read the pressures it found. Mark any that you disagree with, and say why.
- Use the calmer version, or the pause it suggests, before you commit.
Workflows that use it
- Think a hard decision through with models from many fields
- Check a plan for bias, bad incentives and failure
- Decision review tracker
