What it does
Readers keep turning pages when they want a specific answer, not just when things are happening. "Will she live?" pulls harder than "what will happen?" because it names a person, a loss and a time. This skill finds that question in your scene. It makes sure the question is about someone the reader cares about and that something real is at stake. The answer must not be due yet. It picks the line to stop on, which is the peak of trouble just before the answer. It then plans the next scene's answer and lists what to plant earlier so the answer is fair. The result is a short plan you can write from.
You give it
- What happens in the scene, and to whom
- What the reader already knows (optional)
- What comes next in the story (optional)
You get
- The one question readers must want answered, in a plain sentence
- Who it is about and what they stand to lose
- The exact line to stop on, and why
- The plan for the answer in the next scene
- What to plant earlier so the answer is fair
Use it when
- Your chapters end where the action ends, and readers stop for the night.
- You know what happens but not where to cut the scene.
- You have a cliffhanger but are not sure the answer will hold up.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Describe the scene in a few sentences, with the person at its centre.
- Say what the reader knows so far and what happens in the next scene.
- Take the plan to "Fair escape checker", then write the scene with "Page-turner scene drafter".
