What it does
A to-do list says what to add. It rarely says what to remove, so it only grows. What you refuse to do decides how much of the important work gets done. The costly habits are often small: checking email all day, taking meetings with no end time, answering every ping at once. This skill starts from where your time went. It marks the habits that make false emergencies, finds the costly few tasks and clients with an 80/20 check, and writes one stop rule per habit with a number or limit you can check. It adds an auto-reply or agenda rule where that helps, sets a protected block away from devices, and fixes a date to review what held.
You give it
- A plan or calendar of last week, or a list of how your days went
- The habits you suspect cost you most
- Your goals this quarter (optional)
- Rules you cannot change, such as on-call hours (optional)
- Your question (optional)
You get
- A short list of what to stop, each with a rule that has a number or limit
- An 80/20 check on tasks and clients, with any to refer out and a script
- Wording for auto-replies or agenda rules where they help
- A protected block, and a review date
Use it when
- Your day is a string of small requests and the real work waits.
- You know which habits waste your time but have no rule that stops them.
- A few clients or tasks seem to take most of your energy for little return.
