What it does
Performance Max spreads your budget across Google Search, Shopping, YouTube, Display and more, and decides where the sales come from. It works when it has clean product data, tracked purchases and enough budget to learn. On a small budget you cannot see what works, and in-platform ROAS can overstate it, since one source says 50 percent or more of its conversions can come from warm or repeat buyers. This skill starts with a fit test, using the stricter of two budget rules. If you fit, it builds the plan: how much of your budget it should get, how to split asset groups by product type, what assets to add, which automatic settings to switch off, how to exclude brand, and how to bid. If you do not fit, it tells you what to build first.
You give it
- Feed status and conversions per month
- Your daily budget and average non-brand cost per sale
- Product categories and top sellers
- Your break-even ROAS
- Existing images, headlines, converting search terms, brand list and customer list (optional)
You get
- A go or wait verdict with the numbers behind it
- A campaign and asset group map with listing groups
- Asset counts and the settings to switch off
- A bidding and budget plan, plus setup fixes if you already run it
Use it when
- You run Search and Shopping and wonder whether to add Performance Max.
- You launched Performance Max and it spends but you cannot tell what works.
- You want your asset groups, signals and exclusions set up right before you spend.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Give your feed status, conversions per month, daily budget and average non-brand cost per sale.
- List your product categories and top sellers, and your break-even ROAS.
- If it says wait, build what it names first. If it says go, set up the plan and leave it alone for the learning weeks.
- Do not change big settings while it learns, since each change can reset learning.
