What it does
Some stories have no outline to begin with. You have a place you remember, a person you know and a feeling you want to capture. Waiting for the plot to appear means waiting a long time, and writing from a formula gives you a story that could be anyone's. This skill starts with what you have kept: places, memories and objects. It builds the hero from a real person of the right age and puts you in their place. It sketches the story as a board of 12 to 20 frames and lets the ending come from what keeps returning. It tests each hurdle: could a real person that age get through it? It keeps the off-cuts, and checks the plot follows its own rules.
You give it
- The places, memories and objects you keep returning to
- A real person the hero could be based on (optional)
- The age and setting of the hero (optional)
- A mood or feeling (optional)
You get
- Your material grouped into three or four clusters
- A board of 12 to 20 frames
- An ending that comes from the board
- Tested hurdles and a list of off-cuts
Use it when
- You have images and memories but no plot for a story, film or picture book.
- You want a brand film or talk that comes from real places and people, not a template.
- Your outline feels like a formula and you want something that feels lived.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- List the places, memories and objects you have kept, even if they seem small.
- Name a real person the hero could be based on.
- Say the hero's age and setting.
- Read the board aloud frame by frame, and mark any frame that does not feel true.
