What it does
Forced jokes sink a speech. A few well-turned lines lift it. The trick is to take a saying everyone knows, turn it so it sounds absurd, and make sure the turned version is still true. A line that is clever but false, or that picks on someone, does harm. This skill finds the obvious saying behind a line, reverses it, and tests whether the reversal holds a true point on a second read. It keeps only two or three such lines per page, says each one flat, with no sign it is a joke, and leaves serious moments plain. The piece still sounds like you.
You give it
- Your text, such as a toast, speech, bio or short piece
- Who will read or hear it
- Any parts that must stay serious (optional)

Use it when
- Your toast or speech is correct but flat.
- Your bio or intro reads like everyone else's.
- You want one or two lines people will quote.
How to use it
