What it does
A hook is the first line of an ad, or its first seconds, that makes someone stop scrolling. Odd hooks stop people, but often the wrong ones. And most people test ten hooks that open the same way, which teaches them one thing ten times. This skill follows rules that mail-order advertisers proved with split tests. Flag the right reader, offer a gain and bring news. Use curiosity only when it points at that gain. It writes about ten hooks across six moves, chosen by how much your buyer knows. Each line is checked against who speaks and the facts you gave it. Every question a hook opens is matched to the line that answers it. For video, it writes what's seen, read and heard, so the hook works with the sound off. To score, it checks Flags, Gain, New and Clear, then an honesty gate.
You give it
- A brief on your buyer, with their moment, what they own, their doubts and their own words
- How much they already know, the proof you may claim, and claims you must never make
- Who speaks in the ad (a real founder, customer or expert, or an AI-made presenter)
- Write (how many, which format) or score (paste your hooks)
- The rest of the ad, or the line after the hook (optional, but best)
- Brand brain (optional)
- Ad copy (optional)
You get
- In write mode, about ten hooks across the moves your facts allow, at most three per move
- For each, what backs it, its next line, a short screen version and what a win would tell you, plus what's seen for video
- In score mode, each hook's four checks, a score out of 4, the honesty gate and a fix for any under 3
- A list of what it skipped and why, or the buyers your hooks miss
- A set score out of 100, the points won on the four checks across all hooks, with gate failures counted as zero
Use it when
- You need new openings for a video, image ad or post, aimed at the right buyer.
- Your hooks all start the same way, and you want a test that teaches you something.
- You have a list of hooks and want to know which to keep before you spend money testing them.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste a brief on your buyer, how much they know, and the proof you may use.
- Say who speaks. Then write "Mode, write, 10 hooks, 20-second video", or "Mode, score" with your hooks below.
- Paste the rest of the ad, so every hook gets paid off.
- Read the SKIPPED list. Add the missing fact, or leave that move out.
- In score mode, fix the hooks under 3 first. Drop any that fail the gate.
Workflows that use it
- Plan image ad tests from the ads you already run
