What it does
One headline is a guess. Twenty headlines, sorted by what each one does for the reader, is a choice. Most weak headlines fail in the same few ways: they promise nothing, they puzzle the reader with nothing inside the puzzle, or they state a fact the reader already knows. This skill writes in three types. Self-interest lines offer the reader something they want. News lines announce something that is truly new. Curiosity lines make the reader wonder, but only with a promise inside. It leans on self-interest because that type does most of the work. Each line carries a detail from your facts, such as a time, a count or a price, because specific claims are easier to believe. Anything you have no material for is marked MISSING and left out.
You give it
- Your top buying reasons, ideally from "What you really sell finder"
- Your product facts, with figures, times, counts and dates
- Your offer, price and any deadline (optional)
- Brand brain (optional)
- Your offer (optional)
You get
- At least twenty numbered headlines
- For each, its type, the buying reason it serves and the detail it uses
- A count by type and the lines cut with a reason
- MISSING notes for any news or figures it could not use
Use it when
- You need a headline for an ad, email, page or mailing and have only one or two ideas.
- Your headlines read as clever but nobody can say what they offer.
- You want a sorted list to cross out and test, not a single line to take on trust.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste your buying reasons and your product facts.
- Add anything that is new, with its date, so the news lines can run.
- Read the list with the copy hidden. Cross out any line you cannot explain to a stranger.
- Take the rest to "Headline cover test ranker".
Workflows that use it
- Build ads on true facts your rivals never state
- Get headlines sorted by type and the three worth testing
