What it does

Most plans are mostly routine, with a few bets hidden inside lines like "it worked for them, so it will work for us". Teams spend months on the routine part and meet the bet last, when it is costly to be wrong. This workflow follows the method Eric Ries teaches in The Lean Startup. It pulls the bets out and writes each as a plain sentence with a number. It ranks them by damage if wrong and how little you know. It then picks the smallest form of test for the top bet, from a sign-up page to doing the work by hand for one customer, and sets pass, fail and in-between numbers before the test runs.

Use it when

Steps

  1. Startup assumption checker: Paste your plan. Get the few guesses it stands on, each with a number, ranked so you test the riskiest first.
  2. Minimum experiment planner: Paste your ranked guesses. Get the cheapest test for the top one, who to try it on and what to cut.
  3. MVP experiment planner: Paste your product idea. Get the riskiest guess, the smallest test and a pivot or persevere rule.

How to use it

  1. Download the handoff pack. It's a zip with HANDOFF.md and every skill file this workflow uses.
  2. Give the folder to Claude (in Claude Code, or as files in a Claude Project) and say "Follow HANDOFF.md".
  3. Paste your plan as it stands, comparisons and all. Say what worries you most.
  4. Agree the pass numbers before you run the test, then bring back the results.
