What it does
Profit is not cash. A store that made $2 million in profit but bought $3 million of stock that did not sell is about $1 million down in cash. Growth needs stock before the sale, so a store can be cash limited long before it is ad limited. The masterclass speaker says you cannot triple a store in a year without large cash or loans, and that interest plus weaker ad returns can wipe net margin to zero. This skill measures the cash cycle: days of stock, plus days to be paid, minus days you take to pay suppliers. It grades each product from A (fast) to D (slow), tests whether lead times and upfront payment will cause stockouts, and tests whether your growth plan fits your cash. It also plans how to sell slow stock on purpose with paid media, so it turns back into cash. The score tells…
You give it
- Stock by product, with days on hand
- Supplier lead times and payment terms
- Debt and the interest you pay
- Planned spend and growth for the next 12 months
- Your net margin and ad return today (optional)
- Your results (optional)
You get
- The cash conversion cycle in days
- A grade from A to D for each product, with a plan for each grade
- A verdict: is cash or ad return the limit on growth
- A score out of 100 for growth cash safety, and how it was worked out
