What it does
A discount cuts your margin, so the return you need from ads goes up fast. Most teams still use their normal CAC limit during a sale. That limit assumes full margin, so it lets the ads lose money. A second problem is that sale customers may come back less often than customers from a quiet month, which makes each one worth less. This skill recomputes your margin at each discount depth, sets break-even ROAS as 1 divided by that margin, and sets a separate sale CAC limit. It compares your repeat rate for November customers against February customers, using your own order history. Then it shows a table: margin, break-even ROAS, CAC limit and go or skip for each discount, and a score that says how ready the chosen discount is.
You give it
- Current price, product cost, shipping and fees per order
- The discount options you are considering, including a gift with purchase
- Your normal CAC limit
- 6-month repeat rate for November and February customers for the last two years (optional)
- Whether the aim is profit or clearing stock
- Your results (optional)
- Your question (optional)
You get
- Margin, break-even ROAS and a CAC limit at each discount depth
- A decision for each option, which is discount, add a gift or bundle, or skip
- An adjustment to customer value if sale customers repeat less
- A sale readiness score out of 100 with the sum shown
Use it when
- You are choosing between 10%, 20%, 40% off or a free gift, and want to see what each does to your ad limits.
- Your ads look fine during a sale but your profit does not.
- You want one clear break-even ROAS and CAC limit to hand your media buyer before the sale starts.
