What it does
When you have no customers yet, or no reviews, you guess who buys and why. Interviews fix that but take weeks. Meanwhile thousands of people have already said what they want, in public, in their own words, with no one asking. The steps turn those posts into a plan. First it collects posts and comments about your topic from Reddit into a table. Then it keeps every line that gives a reason, copies the phrases exactly with their source, and ranks the reasons. It writes a buyer profile from the same table, then maps the sites, shows, accounts and groups that buyer uses, with the few places to start. The first step uses an Apify account and can cost money, so it shows the settings and the cost before it runs.
You give it
- A topic, a rival or a product category, and who you think buys it
- An Apify account, free for small runs (Reddit collection runs there)
- Your product facts or brand file (optional)
- Brand brain (optional)
You get
- A table of public posts and comments about your topic
- Buying reasons ranked by how many people say them, in their exact words
- A buyer profile with goals, frustrations, triggers and the words they use
- A ranked list of places to reach them and what to share there
Use it when
- You are starting out and have no customers, reviews or survey answers to read.
- You want to learn what buyers of a rival or a category say before you write your message.
- You need to know where to show up first, not just who the buyer is.
Steps
- Reddit thread collector: Give it a topic or subreddit. Get posts and comments in a table you can study. Collects data from websites.
- Customer buying reasons finder: Paste reviews or support emails. Get buying reasons in customers' exact words and a score out of 100.
- Ideal customer profile writer: Describe what you sell. Get detailed buyer personas with motivations, doubts and habits.
- Customer community finder: Describe your buyer group. Get a map of the sites, shows, accounts and communities they use, and where to show up first.
How to use it
- Download the handoff pack. It's a zip with HANDOFF.md and every skill file this workflow uses.
- Give the folder to Claude (in Claude Code, or as files in a Claude Project) and say "Follow HANDOFF.md".
- Give your topic. Check the search terms and the cost it shows in step 1 before it runs.
- Look at the table. If it holds mostly off-topic posts, change the terms and run step 1 again.
- Read the ranked reasons and the profile, then use the hangout list for your first week of posting.
