What it does
Small hiring goes wrong in the same places. The job post is vague, so the wrong people apply. Resumes get judged on gut feel. After the interviews, the person who talked best wins instead of the person who did best. Then an offer goes out with a term nobody checked. The steps tie each stage to the one before. The packet fixes the job's needs, the interview questions and the offer template once. The shortlist scores resumes against those needs and nothing else. You then interview and write notes, and the comparison weighs each candidate on the same questions and checks the notes for bias. You pick the finalist and fill in the offer template. The last step checks the offer for risky terms such as non-competes. You make every hiring decision.
You give it
- A hiring brief with the role, the team, the pay range and the place of work
- The resumes or applications you received
- Your notes from each interview, written straight after
- The finalist's offer details, such as pay and start date
- Transcript (optional)
You get
- A job post, interview questions with strong and weak answers, and an offer letter template
- A ranked shortlist scored only on the job's needs, with a reply drafted for each applicant
- A comparison of your interviewed candidates on evidence, with a bias check
- A list of risky terms and local rules to review in the offer letter
Use it when
- You are hiring and have no written process beyond a job post.
- You have a stack of resumes and need a fair way to cut it down.
- You want to send an offer without a term that causes trouble later.
Steps
- Hiring packet builder: Give it your hiring brief. Get a job post, interview guide with scoring rubric, and an offer letter template.
- Applicant shortlist builder: Give it the job and the resumes. Get a ranked shortlist scored only on the job needs, with replies drafted.
- Fair candidate comparer: Paste interview notes or transcripts. Get candidates compared on evidence, with bias checks. You make the hiring call.
- Offer letter and non-compete checker: Give it an offer letter and work location. Get risky terms and non-compete limits flagged. Not legal advice.
How to use it
- Download the handoff pack. It is a zip with HANDOFF.md and every skill file this workflow uses.
- Give the folder to Claude (in Claude Code, or as files in a Claude Project) and say "Follow HANDOFF.md".
- Give it the hiring brief. Say where the person will work, because the offer check depends on it.
- After the shortlist, interview with the questions from the packet and write notes right after each one.
- Paste your notes for the comparison. Pick your finalist, fill in the offer template, then bring the letter back for the check.
