What it does
Owning a word costs something. Every product, customer group and message that doesn't serve the word blurs it. The usual instinct is to add: more products for more people, and a new message each budget round. The method here is the opposite. You give up three things: part of the product line, part of the market you aim at, and the habit of changing your position. The skill sorts everything you sell against the word and shows the revenue each item brings. It cuts what dilutes the word and parks what is neutral and small. It separates the target (the type of person whose character you want the brand to take) from the market (everyone who will buy anyway). It then writes a rule against changing the position at budget time, with answers ready for the pressures that cause drift: a new boss, a growth target, a hot new channel.
You give it
- The word you chose, such as the pick from "Ownable word picker"
- A list of your products, offers, groups and channels
- Revenue or sales by item (optional)
- Your current plan (optional)
- Brand brain (optional)
You get
- Each item marked feeding, neutral or diluting
- A cut list in order, with dates
- One target, separate from the whole market
- A rule against changing the position
- Three questions to ask of every new idea
Use it when
- You have picked a word and your range still says many things.
- You sell to several groups and your message tries to please all.
- A new product, boss or target pulls you off your position.
- Your position changes every budget cycle.
How to use it
- Start a chat with the skill. Open it if you added it to your AI, or copy it and paste it in.
- Paste your word and a plain list of what you sell and to whom, with revenue if you have it.
- Read the cut list with whoever owns each product. Agree dates.
- Pin the rule and the three questions where your team makes budget decisions.
